Artist Amanda Croatto has created a 2-piece pair of hook earrings in shimmering blue-green coloured titanium. Two roughly circular pieces of titanium each have a larger, elongated semi-circular shaped piece of titanium suspended from the lower edge, and all of the pieces are decorated with swirling line detail across the front sides of the titanium. The circular pieces are pierced with small holes - one circle has two holes, and the other has three holes. The titanium shapes are connected via a sterling silver jump ring, and the earrings hang from handcrafted sterling silver wire hooks. Colourful and almost feather-light, these earrings could easily become a wardrobe staple.
Anodised titanium, sterling silver.
Length of drop from piercing: 5cm
Width of earrings: 2.3cm
Amanda Croatto’s playful imagination and love of colour are evident in her work with copper, enamels and other non-precious metals and surface finishes. Each unique piece showcases the pleasure she takes patina and pattern, movement and colour. Recognisable for their bold patterning, articulated surfaces and tactile elements, Croatto’s jewellery is sure to add colour to your day.
Croatto has a degree in Textile Design from RMIT, and surface design and illustration continue to be a strong influence in her work. Each one of her pieces is hand-made in her Melbourne studio.
