Brass Spoon Workshop with Alison Jackson (Ferro Forma)
28 February 2026 | 10am–5pm | KIN Gallery

Join us for an immersive day in the workshop with acclaimed silversmith Alison Jackson of Ferro Forma, where you’ll create your own customised brass spoon from beginning to end. Guided step by step, Alison will share the techniques, tips, and quiet satisfactions of metal forming, demystifying the process behind one of the most humble and beloved objects: the spoon.

This is an intermediate-level workshop, and participants are encouraged to have basic saw piercing skills. All materials are provided, along with light refreshments, allowing you to focus fully on the joy of making.

Alison Jackson is a designer, maker, and contemporary silversmith based in Braidwood, Australia. A graduate of the Australian National University’s Gold and Silversmithing program, she brings over two decades of artistic and technical expertise to her practice. Her work—elegant, timeless, and minimal, spans fine jewellery, tableware, large-scale installations, limited editions, and exhibition pieces.

Alison’s work is held in public and private collections, including a significant acquisition by Canberra Museum and Gallery. She is a recipient of numerous awards and grants, including from the Australia Council for the Arts and artsACT, and her work has been exhibited widely throughout Australia and internationally, including at Inhorgenta (Germany) and Milan Design Week (Italy).

Spaces are limited for this special one-day workshop.
