Danielle Barrie is a jewellery and object designer and maker based in Adelaide, South Australia, at the Jam Factory.
Barrie makes innovative and contemporary pieces that allude to a sense of history and time. Her handcrafted jewellery is timeless, evoking an understated sense of luxury with a delicate hint of playfulness. Barrie draws inspiration from a wide variety of sources: architectural silhouettes, wild landscapes, the colours of a beetle’s wing or the texture of a scarf. This variety makes each collection a unique, underpinned by a core aesthetic of contrasting shapes, bold forms and structures.
Barrie couples this aesthetic diversity with innovative techniques and quality craftsmanship to create distinctive, contemporary objects. Barrie graduated from the University of South Australia with a Bachelor of Visual Arts Specialisation (Jewellery & Metal) in 2015, and completed the world-renowned JamFactory Associate Program in 2017.
