Porcelain jewellery box, hand carved in Canberra and glazed with black underglaze detail and Japanese clear glaze. Fired to 1300+ degrees in a small wood fired salt kiln at Old Saint Lukes Studio (Gundaroo). Gold lustre
added and re-fired in electric kiln to set.
Each piece is handmade and dimensions are approximate.

Emily Kerr is a ceramic artist based on Ngunnawal Country in Canberra. She works with porcelain and stoneware clays, wood-firing whenever possible at Old Saint Lukes Studio in Gundaroo (Ian Jones and Moraig McKenna). In 2025 Emily completed an artist residency at Kouraku Kiln (Arita, Japan) where she focussed on porcelain surface decoration. Her recent work reflects this influence, and her growing interest in pattern design.
