Erin Daniell has crafted this simple organic 'Ridge' ring out of wax. Twisting and extruding the medium until she creates a beautiful line texture, Daniell then cuts and forms the ring shape. Overlapping the ends to give the ring a knotted/twisted appearance at the top of the ring. Texturing the wax this way gives it an irregular grooved texture with differing thickness' across the surface.

Erin Daniell is a contemporary jeweller and visual artist based in Adelaide, South Australia. Her works explore the concept of beauty and growth, in the form of small-scale organic sculptures, cast from hand carved wax or natural materials with traditional silversmithing techniques. Employing her own take on the ancient wax casting techniques, she manipulates liquid wax by pulling and twisting to create fragile forms that are each as unique as a fingerprint when they are cast in metal. This process infuses her designs with natural textures that carry an elemental aesthetic, reminiscent of mollusc spiral growth patterns and coastal erosion striations.
