Have you ever wanted to hold a water droplet in your hand forever? Artist Imogen Evans has given us the opportunity through creating a unique, subtly textured, individually water formed charm called 'blobby'. Fixed with a handcrafted sterling silver jumpring, this creative object provides an excellent talking point.
Imogen Evans' process here is water casting whereby droplets of molten silver are poured into a container of hot water. At the bottom of the container is a either a piece of fabric, or an object, that influences the final form and texture of the 'blobby' charm.

Imogen Evans uses a dichotomy of clean minimal lines, organic textures, and a touch of asymmetry in her practice. Using her drawings and iteration sketches, often created in response to stimuli such as music and her surroundings, Evans then creates her work by letting the technique and sometimes the variability of a process to further alter the final form.
Imogen Evans is and emerging contemporary jeweller based in Canberra, ACT. She graduated from RMIT University with a bachelor's degree in Gold and Silversmithing in 2017.
