Leonie Simpson is a Sydney-based contemporary jeweller who makes handcrafted and bespoke jewellery and objects. She makes small-run jewellery collections, and one-off commissioned pieces. “I am interested in the sculptural qualities of jewellery that respond to the unique movements of the human body. A lot of my work currently uses traditional methods, especially wax carving. Using these techniques allows my work to bridge between the traditional and cultural methods of crafting and sculpting jewellery, and the precision of contemporary manufacturing and production techniques.”
