Melanie Joy is a Brisbane-based contemporary jeweller, and the creator behind Journey Of A Wanderess.
Growing up in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges in Victoria, Melanie has always been inspired by the Australian landscape. Her work explores the natural textures, shapes and forms found in the flora and fauna that surround her. Her love of nature and lifelong passion for making led her to the ancient lost wax and cuttlefish casting techniques she uses today to achieve her signature textured forms.
Melanie graduated from Box Hill Institute in November 2013, with an Advanced Diploma of Engineering Technology specialising in Jewellery. During her time there she received a scholarship to study jewellery design, ceramics and glass blowing in America. Melanie has exhibited her work in numerous solo and group exhibitions Australia wide.
