Taking inspiration from the aesthetics of antiquity, goldsmith Katie Shanahan has crafted a disc, split horizontally, and connected each half with a 7mm wide 'hinge'.
The design, along with the alloy of gold plated sterling silver, combine to give these earrings a particular opulence. In designing these earrings, Katie has referred to the ancient palace of Phaistos from the Minoan civilisation, located on present-day Crete, and dating from c. 3500 BC - c. 1100 BC.
Stud with butterfly attachment.
